The Board of Elders (also referred to as the Finance Ministry) is a lay panel of eight men and women dedicated to the service of the Lord. Their function is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Pastor on matters pertaining to the financial well being of the church.
The main goal for the Finance ministry is to facilitate the transition of the church; by assisting the Pastor in the decision-making process and promotion the general welfare of the congregation.
The structure of the Finance minister consists of a benevolent function and a Hospitality function. The purpose of the benevolent function is to fulfill the teachings of Jesus by assisting members with meeting vital life needs. This ministry as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities, excluding the telephone, defines vital life needs. The amount of assistance issues by the ministry depends upon the member’s respective situation and within the limits set by established policies. Funds are only dispersed via voucher or a check. No cash is given. If any member ever encounters a situation were assistance is needed; Contact a member of the benevolent ministry.
The purpose of the Hospitality ministry is to assure is to assure the comfort of our of town guest who come to New Life to minister the Word of God. This ministry is also responsible for comforting members who are mourning due to the lost of a loved of a loved one, or hospitalized.
