Kingdom Project Update
(April, 2008, Grandview, MO) The purpose of this article is to keep members and partners up to date on the New Life In Christ Kingdom Project.
Ground Breaking & Permits
After the Ground Breaking Service, the church began Phase 1 Site Grading which consists of moving the dirt, compacting and reshaping the earth in preparation for the new facility. However it was halted due to a discrepancy with the City of Grandview and construction. The church then went through the process of obtaining the proper permit to reconvene with construction. Site grading plans had to be submitted to the City of Grandview; await the City tc review the plans (1-2 weeks); receive revision comments from the City; meet with the architect/ planner to make the necessary adjustments to the plan (1 week); resubmit the revised plan to the City and await the permit (1-2 weeks). Praise the Lord! The church obtained the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Permit which gave the go ahead to continue site grading.
Site Work Plans & Bids
Site work plans are currently being designed. The design phase should be completed and submitted to the City for review during the week of April 20th. The review period is expected to be about (4-5 weeks) during which time the City will review the plans (1-2 weeks) and recommend revisions. The church will receive the comments from the City and review them with their architect/planner to make necessary adjustments to the plan (1 week), resubmit the revised plan to the City and await the permit (1 -2 weeks).
The church, upon receiving the necessary permits from the City of Grandview/State of Missouri, will then open up for bidding by prospective contractors to do the necessary work. This is tentatively planned to happen the week of May 18th, and the bidding term will last for 2 weeks. After the bidding closes, the building committee will then take about 1 week to review the prospective contractors and decide on which one will do the job. Once the contractor is selected it will probably take between 7-10 days to get their workers and equipment together to begin the job.
Construction is tentatively planned to begin the week of June 8th.
We would like to encourage the saints to continue to be faithful with your building pledges as well as efforts to increase the number of giving units we currently have who have pledged to the Kingdom Project.
Please feel free to check back for updates and information regarding the Kingdom Project. God Bless!
